The Newberry Pecans story begins when the Newberry family purchased farmland nestled in the northern tip of Madison County, Alabama in 1989. Starting with a few pecan trees and other various ornamental trees, Howard Newberry and his son Joe worked side by side to develop their family business, a field-grown nursery selling trees wholesale. They were greatly assisted over the years by Joe’s wife Marie, children Scott and Michelle, as well as Joe’s mother, Barbara, and Marie’s father, “Doc” Carlile.
In 2015, the Newberry family decided to concentrate solely on growing, shaking, processing and bagging the pecans from their farm, updating the business from Newberry Nursery to Newberry Pecans. This endeavor has exploded to a vibrant orchard of over 900 pecan trees, 20 times the amount Howard Newberry purchased at the start!
